What’s a womb healing?

Womb healings are possibly my favourite type of shamanic work. A womb healing can be transformative.

Your womb is physically and energetically designed for nurturing and birthing new life. Which makes it both amazingly powerful, and quite vulnerable.

Your womb is receptive by nature. So it can pick up heavy energy and wounding from events that have happened to you, like abuse, trauma and ancestral wounding. Yes, your womb can hold ancestral wounds experienced by your mother, grandmother and women way back in your family line (not to mention in past or parallel lives).

And all our wombs (I believe) hold deep wounds from living in the patriarchy, where women are objectified and treated as 'less than' men. Anything that devalues and injures our deep feminine essence is likely to be energetically stored in our wombs. After all, our wombs are our most feminine, most powerful place.

These energetic wounds can block our power, cause reproductive issues and create problems birthing new life - whether it's a baby or a book you want to bring into the world.

A story about womb healing for reproductive problems

I once did a womb clearing for a woman who was struggling to stay pregnant, even though medically, doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with her or her partner. Every time she got pregnant, she miscarried. She was Jewish, and when I journeyed for her, I saw that her womb held ancestral energy from the Holocaust, when it wasn’t safe for a child to be born.

Her womb still held the energetic story that ‘being pregnant and giving birth is unsafe’, and so she was unable to do that.

A couple of months after I carried out her womb healing, she did get pregnant, and gave birth to a healthy daughter. Of course, I can’t say whether this was down to the womb healing – but my client certainly thought it played a role.

Womb healing, menopause and our soul purpose

Our womb’s business is not finished once we stop having children (or indeed, if we never had children). No! Your womb was never only about babies.

And around the time of menopause, your womb is gearing up for its second act!

Kate Codrington calls this time women’s ‘Second Spring’ and indeed, it’s a whole new phase of life where meaning takes centre stage.

In midlife, we're called to devote ourselves more fully to our soul purpose. But heavy energy in our wombs can prevent us from having the power to embody our gifts. Because moving into a more authentic and meaningful life happens naturally as we grow older, menopause is a very potent time to clear any blocks or wounds that we either haven’t looked at it, or haven’t been aware of until now.

What happens in a womb healing?

In a womb cleansing, (if working remotely) I use natural objects to build an energetic model of your womb – you can see examples in the pictures on this page. Then I journey to see what wounds need to be cleared.

After clearing the energy, I recreate the structure using more beautiful objects - leaves, flowers, a pearl necklace (like you can see in the picture above).

I might receive messages and insight for you about your next steps. I can seek answers from Spirits to any questions you have. There might be a ritual for you to do to help you fully embrace your feminine power.

When your most powerful feminine space is cleared, you feel the results immediately, or gradually over time. I've never done a womb healing and not had amazing feedback about the results - sometimes months later.
